PATHOLOGY Involved In Serious Van Accident

San Diego-based death metallers PATHOLOGY were involved in a serious road accident Wednesday night, November 10. The group,
which was in the middle of a North American tour as the support act for NILE, was driving between dates in St. Paul, Minnesota and Seattle,
Washington when its van hit black ice outside Bismarck, North Dakota, causing the vehicle to roll a couple times before sliding a few hundred
feet. Three members of PATHOLOGY were taken to the hospital but suffered no serious injuries aside from some bumps and bruises and
the overall mental stress of the experience. Unfortunately, with no van, trailer and most of the gear damaged, PATHOLOGY has been forced
to pull out of the remainder of the NILE tour.

Commented drummer Dave Astor: '[This was the] worst car wreck in my life! [I feel] lucky to be alive. Everything is destroyed! Extremely traumatized.
This tour is absolutely over for us. Infuckingsane!"

A photo of the crash scene can can be viewed below.

PATHOLOGY hit the road, new song online

Legacy of the Ancients is now out and has been selling briskly and being enthusiastically embraced by both fans new and old as the band explores their brand of punishment. About.com says “The right band to claim the vacant throne of brutal death metal” and Decibel confirms “Legacy of the Ancients delivers their best-sounding album yet”.

After a crazy weekend headlining the Second Annual Las Vegas Death Fest, drummer Dave Astor reports in, “We had a great time getting out and playing some of the new stuff for the fans. Being able to headline LVDF 2 was definitely nice, as well as getting to play alongside so many killer bands. We then took a couple of them, Inherit Disease and Septycal Gorge, out to Phoenix, Arizona for a show there the next night, which was cool.”

This week the band starts their first of their national dates in support of Legacy of the Ancients beginning with 4 shows alongside Jungle Rot, Lightning Swords of Death and Woe of Tyrants before connecting for a month of dates with Belgium’s black metallers Enthroned and Australia’s Destroyer 666, with Cardiac Arrest, Estuary and Black Anvil opening some shows.

“We’re looking forward to finally getting out on the road and performing live and meeting old friends and making new fans. We have a lot of tour dates ahead of us so there is no excuse to not make one of the shows. You will not be disappointed!” states Astor.

To celebrate the band have made a new song, “Afterlife” from Legacy of the Ancients, available on their myspace page.

About the band:

PATHOLOGY is no stranger to the current burgeoning underground American Death Metal movement. Their gore-soaked music and imagery has gained serious notoriety since drummer Dave Astor (founding member and original drummer for grind-spazz project THE LOCUST and militant death squad CATTLE DECAPITATION) founded the group in 2006 amidst the hot confines of San Diego, CA. PATHOLOGY combines the bowel-shaking vocals of classic American Death Metal of SUFFOCATION and MORTICIAN, mixed with the technical prowess of gore grind gods CARCASS and mosh-inducing stomp of DYING FETUS and SKINLESS.

They released the Surgically Hacked demo (Amputated Vein Records) in the fall of 2006 and followed it with the brutal full-length Incisions Of Perverse Debauchery (Grindhead Records) the following year. Some relentless touring and vocalist changes did not stop this powerhouse, even as they released another full length, Age Of Onset (Comatose Records) in the summer of 2009. The PATHOLOGY name began coming up amongst the staff of Victory Records around this time and the interest in this band began to grow.

It became clear that Victory needed to partner with this beast and do what they could to elevate them to the next level. On a cold wintry night in December of 2009, the label made the hellish union official and brought Pathology into the Victory family. Now the band has a new record on the threshold of completion and they are prepared to conquer everything in their path in 2010. This is not metal for the faint of heart; this is true death metal that will stop at nothing to obliterate all that stands in the way. Head this as a warning, PATHOLOGY is coming...

Pathology Announce New Members, Enters Studio Today For Their Most Brutal Record to Date

Recently signed to Victory Records, San Diego’s Pathology will enter Doubletime Studios today to record their label debut. The band feels very comfortable there with producer/engineer Jeff Forrest, having worked together on the group’s previous recordings. Doubletime has been going for 20 years and has a great and diverse client list including As I Lay Dying, Atreyu and Bleeding Through. Upon completion of the tracks, the album will be mixed in March by Hate Eternal guitarist Erik Rutan at his Mana Studios (Cannibal Corpse, Vital Remains) for an anticipated early summer release.

“We are excited to be working with such a death metal legend,” expresses drummer Dave Astor. “We are confident that Erik will help bring us to the next level of brutality!”

In addition, the band have more news as they have undergone a line-up change with the new album with returning vocalist Matti Way and the addition of second guitarist Diego Sanchez (both ex-Disgorge) joining drummer Dave Astor and guitarist Tim Tiszczenko. The band will be adding a bassist to become a 5-piece when touring commences in May.

“We are very excited to be bringing Matti Way back,” states Astor. “We feel Matti is the voice of Pathology, and it would not be the same without him.”

In the meantime the band wants to close with this - “We’re prepared to lay down the new Pathology and it’s our most brutal and heaviest to date,” promises drummer Dave Astor. “We are stoked to show our fans what we have been working on.”

PATHOLOGY sign management deal with SALEM ROSE MUSIC!!!

For immediate release

Salem Rose Music is proud to announce that it has expanded its management roster with the addition of Pathology.

Recently signed to Victory Records, the San Diego-based band was formed in 2006 by former The Locust and Cattle Decapitation drummer Dave Astor. They have steadily built their name and reputation since via outstanding gore-soaked death metal releases, like last year’s Age of Onset, and are prepared to take it to the next level.

“I came into personal contact with Pathology late last year when they hired me to shop their latest 2-song demo to labels. I was impressed by the band’s continued musical progression, dedication to the cause and desire to work,” explains Salem Rose’s Marco Barbieri. “After securing the Victory Records deal we entertained the idea of me staying involved as their manager, and I am seriously excited by the future.”

Salem Rose Music was formed a little over two years ago when Marco Barbieri stepped down from his Presidential post at Century Media Records to return with his family to Las Vegas and join his father in their Property Management, Investing and Real Estate Development business. Having 20 years of professional music experience it was difficult for Barbieri to leave the business entirely and he has kept himself busy part-time handling the careers of Warbringer, Abigail Williams and Decrepit Birth, as well promoting local events and consulting others in various musical endeavors.

Dave Astor had this say about the new co-operation, “We’re extremely excited to have Marco be a part of the Pathology team. He has been in the music biz for many years and we are thrilled to have his experience and knowledge.”

Pathology begin recording their Victory Records’ debut in February.
